I lived and sold real estate in The Kingsway for many years and was even married in the Old Mill (originally the King’s Mill) a prominent beautiful Tudor Style historic building. I continue to visit the area often and know it well.
The Kingsway is an affluent residential area located in the west end of Toronto. First developed by Robert Home Smith in the early 1900’s it is located off the main thoroughfare “The Kingsway” situated off of Royal York and Bloor Streets. The Kingsway emerged out of Home Smith's vision of the ideal community and he was inspired by the Garden City principles of England and consequently the neighbourhood is renowned for its distinctive style of homes from Arts and Craft with Mock Tudor Revival to stately 2-story brick Center Hall homes, all situated on large well-treed lots in a park like setting.
Populated with numerous shops, restaurants, easy access to downtown with TTC and major highway connections plus plenty of schools and parks, The Kingsway is a desirable urban neighbourhood where the number of home owners drastically outnumbers the amount of home renters.
